Post-Operative Instructions

Stretta Procedure Post-Operative Instructions:

Diet: Please stay on clear liquids for the first 24 hours. Then try to follow a bland diet for the next week. Please chew your food thoroughly and avoid larger pieces of bread and meat for the first week after the procedure.

Pain Medication: If you experience discomfort use liquid Tylenol for the first 48 hours. If stronger medication is required call our office for a prescription.

Pre-Op Medications: Continue taking your PPI's (Previcid, Nexium, Protonix, Prilosec, etc.) for 2 months. Avoid NSAIDS (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, etc.) and aspirin for 2 weeks. Crush all pill medications if you have difficulty swallowing.

Notify Us: If you develop a fever greater than 101, chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid heart beat, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, or bleeding.

Follow Up: Call the office, 428-6300, after your procedure to make a one week follow up appointment.

Return to Work: You may resume your regular activities the following day after the procedure.
